Earlier this month, SAJE was one of fifteen community-based organizations to receive the inaugural Leadership Award from the Los Angeles Funders’ Collaborative. The award recognizes our work advancing green infrastructure and climate equity in Los Angeles and our role “as trusted voices in decision-making spaces and advisory groups, actively participat[ing] in multiple collaboratives, and advanc[ing] policy and systems change across interconnected issue areas.”

SAJE is currently working on several campaigns related to climate equity, including including ensuring working-class communities aren’t inadvertently harmed by local and statewide building decarbonization mandates, ensuring South Los Angeles’ small businesses benefit from green infrastructure projects, and protecting renters from extreme indoor heat.
