If you live in Los Angeles City or County, you are protected by COVID-19 temporary emergency protections. If you can’t afford to pay rent, you do not have to move out.

These protections expire March 31, 2023. 

You must file a declaration of nonpayment of rent due to COVID-19 within 7 days of the rent being due for each month you cannot pay.
