Strategic Actions for a Just Economy (SAJE) is hosting its fourth annual fundraising gala, LA for Everybody: The Big 30, on Thursday, April 16, 2026.

This year's theme celebrates thirty years of SAJE and key partners amplifying working-class voices to advance housing justice, equitable land use, and climate solutions in Los Angeles. Karen Mack
Executive Director & Founder, LA Commons

Karen Mack founded LA Commons over 25 years ago based on a vision of communities where everyone has access and freedom to express themselves and the ability to tap into the power that creativity provides. The South LA–based nonprofit works in neighborhoods across the city, implementing artistic programs that foster interaction, dialogue and collaboration. They play a unique role as a facilitator of local engagement in arts and culture as well as in other important issues like health, transportation and education, to name a few, giving residents and particularly young people, a voice and an onramp to making positive change.

Liberty Hill Foundation is a laboratory for social change philanthropy. The organization leverages the power of community organizers, donor activists, and allies to advance social justice through strategic investment in grants, leadership training, and campaigns.

Over the past five decades, organizing and advocacy powered by Liberty Hill has changed national policies, launched social change movements, transformed neighborhoods, and nurtured hundreds of community leaders who respond to the experience of injustice by fighting for their rights.

Liberty Hill understands that the work of social justice is a marathon, not a sprint. They remain committed to the efforts of those who came before us and fought to advance the social justice movements we are still advocating for today.
